Hi, and welcome to Fallen Angel Fitness. I’m Jo and I’m a female from the UK who likes to keep fit through lifting heavy! Outside of the weight room and world of belts, knee-sleeves, and wrist-wraps I’m a trainee psychologist and I believe that looking after our mental health is vital in order to help us be happy in this life 🙂
I initially started my blog to promote weightlifting to women, especially because of the myths that surround weightlifting for females. However, this has since evolved to be more about general physical fitness as I didn’t want to alienate those people who use other forms of exercise to keep fit and healthy.
My blog also explores issues relating to mental health and trying to view situations from a more positive stance. I believe that it’s not necessarily about ‘the problem’ but the way we choose to view it that influences how much of an impact it has upon us. I say this not as someone who works within the field of psychology, but as someone who has experienced difficult situations and knows that a change of mindset can bring a whole new perspective to a situation.
Spirituality is something which has been important to me for a number of years, but I’ve neglected it and never explored it as deeply as I’d like. A few months after starting my blog I realised that spirituality had an important place in my writing, seeing as I wanted this space to include all the things I’m passionate about. Writing about spirituality also helps keep me accountable in nurturing this aspect of my life 🙂
You’ll also find some humorous posts in here, just because I like to poke fun at the human condition and make people laugh, although I’m never sure whether they’re laughing at me or with me!
If you’d like to receive updates from my blog then please pop your email in the box above and you’ll never miss another post!
I look forward to you joining me!
